![]() MISSION: We the Young Gents of Heritage Elementary are men who give firm handshakes and hold doors. The Young Gents Team– Empowers young men to develop the qualities needed to be a successful gentleman on the field, in the classroom, and with friends and family. We are independent and we can accomplish anything. We will synergize to make the world a kinder place. MISSION: We the girls of GIRL POWER are intelligent and powerful. With Girl Power Team– Runs together in order to practice making good decisions, being a good friend, and realizing the power of their potential with other girls in the school. We will never give up on a recipe, and we will respect others’ cooking. MISSION: We, the Kids Who Cook, will cook healthy and delicious food with passion and the love of cooking. The Kids who Cook Team– Promotes healthy eating habits by cooking and testing recipes that are healthy, delicious, and fun to make. We want to reduce paper usage, increase recycling, and promote energy conservation. MISSION: The Green and Clean team wants to work on making a positive environmental impact on our school. The Green & Clean Team– Empowers students to help the environment through waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and pollution prevention. We will decorate Heritage Elementary to make it look fantastic! We will help others, be creative, and help photograph school events. MISSION: We the members of the scrapbooking team will always follow the seven habits. The Scrapbooking and Photography Team– Promotes the 7 Habits by photographing pictures of school groups, events and activities for display in the hallways and in the Heritage Yearbook. MISSION: To learn about plants because they are special to the earth. The Gardening Team– Beautifies the outside of our school by gardening, learning about nature, and helping animals and insects. We will also try to get our classmates more excited about being active and physically fit through exercise and fun games. It will be done by making kids aware of responsible eating choices at both school and home. MISSION: We will do our best to help students make responsible choices for both their bodies and minds. The Health and Wellness Team– Helps the students here at Heritage find ways to develop stronger minds and bodies. Mission: To work together to create colorful artwork to make our school feel welcoming and to make Heritage shine! The Color Crew Team –Makes our school and classrooms welcoming and attractive. Please check back to see how our Leadership Teams develop throughout the year! I balance all four parts of myself.Įach student at Heritage is part of a Leadership Team. I take time to find meaningful ways to help people (soul). I spend time with family and friends (heart). I learn in lots of places, not just at school (brain). I eat right, exercise, and get enough sleep (body). I seek out other people’s ideas because I know that by teaming with others, we can create better solutions than what any one of us could alone. I get along well with others, even people who are different than me. I value other people’s strengths and learn from them. I listen with my ears, my eyes, and my heart. I try to see things from their viewpoint (paradigm). I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings. Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood.When conflicts arise, I look for a win-win solution. I balance courage for getting what I want with consideration for what others want. I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan. ![]() ![]() This means I say no to things I know I should not do. I spend my time on things that are most important. I am an important part of my classroom and contribute to my school’s mission and vision. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking. I do not blame others for my wrong actions. ![]() I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. ![]() Discussing the habits regularly and implementing them at home can make a big difference in your child. The 7 Habits are listed below and have become the norm of the Heritage Elementary school culture.
